The animated chart from GenshinLab shows the progression of Genshin Impact’s banners since the game’s release and the sales each character has generated measured in US dollars. The current Ganyu and Zhongli double banner has been very successful when it comes to revenue as it’s currently placed in second place even though it features two character re-runs. The chart still shows the overwhelming success of Raiden Shogun’s arrival which was the first banner to surpass the two characters that were released in 2020, Venti and Klee. Developer miHoYo has already confirmed that Genshin Impact update 2.5 will include a Raiden Shogun re-run and it would come as no surprise if she breaks her own record.
The current Zhongli and Ganyu double banner has become popular despite the fact that the first banner cycle for Genshin Impact update 2.4 included the release of new characters Shenhe and Yun Jin. Zhongli has been one of the strongest overall characters in Genshin Impact since MiHoYo introduced Geo buffs to the game. Besides providing one of the best shields in the game, Zhongli has the ability to lower opponents’ resistances, which is very important in end-game content. His Elemental Burst brings a falling meteor to earth dealing much-needed AoE Geo damage, which is essential when having a DPS like Itto or Razor whose damage lies in Normal Attacks.
Ganyu has certainly become one of the most popular characters in the game, as she’s widely considered one of the strongest DPS characters alongside Eula, Xiao, and Ayaka. While other DPS characters like Hu Tao or Diluc can’t exist in a vacuum and require some strongest supports in Genshin Impact to apply Elemental reactions, Ganyu can work independently in dishing out tons of damage.
Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
