Flashy cinematic trailers introducing Genshin Impact’s newest characters have become a hallmark of updates, with HoYoverse introducing eager fans to each new member of the game’s roster. With the long delay between Version 2.6 and 2.7 leading to an extended Ayaka banner, Genshin has wasted no time in introducing the previously leaked Hydro bow user Yelan to the game’s community. Yelan already received a stylish animated trailer last week and, now, Genshin Impact’s newest trailer gives players a full look at the mysterious Ministry of Secret Affairs worker’s gameplay.

The trailer titled “Yelan: Shadow in the Rain” shows Yelan’s mysterious and cool attitude as she ambushes a group of Treasure Hoarders looking to rob an unsuspecting merchant. The trailer takes on a heavily jazz-inspired motif through its flashy visuals and music as Genshin Impact introduces Yelan’s abilities focused on running through and locking down her enemies. Yelan’s Elemental Skill starts her into a dash, binding enemies she passes through, while her Elemental Burst deals damage to enemies surrounding her and adds bonus damage to her attacks for a few seconds.
While Yelan’s newest trailer shows off a flashy demonstration of her gameplay, fans of Genshin Impact following the game’s extensive community of leakers have already seen plenty of details about the upcoming character. Previous leaks have revealed not only the skills shown off in the new trailer but also Yelan’s constellations, as well as materials players looking to acquire Yelan should farm in order to level her up quickly. Genshin Impact frequently sees numerous leaks about upcoming characters in the weeks leading up to their release with Yelan’s preview period being especially long due to the delays.
With Yelan’s introduction to Genshin Impact coming with 2.7, she will join a growing roster of characters that still sees plenty of highly-anticipated additions set to come over the next few months. Earlier this month, HoYoverse officially unveiled the long-rumored Shikanoin Heizou as one of the next members of the game’s roster and the rumored addition of Sumeru later this year will bring not only new characters but also the addition of the game’s seventh element, Dendro. Between new characters like Yelan and future rumored content, Genshin Impact looks to have plenty in store for fans throughout the rest of 2022.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices with a Switch version in development.
