Even though update 3.0 unlocked a big portion of the map, players are still eagerly awaiting to find out how big the whole Sumeru region actually is. A new post on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subReddit has apparently revealed an image showing Sumeru’s whole map.

At the moment, the only playable parts of Sumeru are the rainforests that are connected to Chasm. The leak reveals that the whole Sumeru region could be bigger than Mondstadt and Liyue combined which would make it the largest nation in the game so far. However, it should be noted that Mondstadt is yet to receive its expansion to the north. Developer HoYoverse has introduced an interesting pattern of adding a new major region part by part over many updates which means that the whole Sumeru region could get unlocked in a couple of months.

Multiple replies in the comment section claim that the desert parts of Sumeru could arrive in the upcoming Genshin Impact version 3.1 which is expected to drop around September 28, at least according to the most recent live stream event. The game’s official social media accounts have already revealed three new characters that will join the playable roster in update 3.1. Some of these characters like Cyno are inspired by the traditional clothes of Ancient Egypt which means that HoYoverse could introduce the first part of the deserts alongside him.

Recent leaks have been hinting that Cyno will be a new Genshin Impact DPS character. One of Sumeru’s promotional videos has confirmed that Cyno will be a new Electro polearm user, just like the popular Raiden Shogun. When it comes to his play style, credible leakers have been hinting that he is very similar to two strong DPS characters, Razor and Xiao.

A big part of the community seems surprised that none of the characters who are scheduled to arrive in update 3.1 will be using the Dendro element. This means that players will have to still rely on Tighnari, Collei, and the new version of the Traveler for Dendro application. The new element has introduced numerous new elemental reactions to Genshin Impact which means that players should probably have at least one Dendro character in their team.

Genshin Impact is available now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
