After being mentioned in numerous leaks over the past couple of months, Genshin Impact’s social media accounts have confirmed the arrival of a new Electro character named Cyno. And now recent leaks have revealed more information about the character.

One of the recent Sumeru teaser videos has confirmed that Cyno is a new polearm character with an Electro Vision. One of the most credible Genshin Impact leakers, Ubatcha1, has described Cyno as a five-star version of the popular Electro user Razor who thrives at being the main damage dealer in a team composition. At the earlier stages of the game, Razor was considered to be one of the best DPS characters in Genshin Impact alongside Diluc, despite having a lower rarity. Previous leaks have revealed that his elemental skill allows him to dash forward, dealing Electro damage, similar to Xiao’s Lemniscatic Wind Cycling.

Cyno’s elemental burst will infuse his polearm with Electro damage and change the effects of his Elemental Skill and Normal Attack. His damage potential will apparently scale with Elemental Mastery, which seems to be very common with new characters from Sumeru. When it comes to Cyno’s artifact choices, leaks have been hinting that he could be using Thundering Fury if the game doesn’t introduce a new set specifically designed for his DPS needs.

Another popular leaker, hxg_diluc, has revealed that in order to maximize his potential, Cyno should be placed in a team composition with Fischl, Zhongli, or Dendro characters. Fans speculate that he could be very squishy like Xiao, who requires a healer or a strong shielder like Zhongli. Dendro characters will allow Cyno to trigger two new elemental reactions named Quicken and Aggravate. Aggravate can be considered a sub-reaction to Quicken as it can be triggered by applying additional electro damage to a character that is affected by Quicken.

Aggravate increases the Electro character’s damage potential, and it scales with Elemental Mastery which is why Cyno could be a perfect fit for team compositions that rely on this elemental reaction. Fischl’s main job in this team would probably be to serve as a battery for other members of the party. Even though both leakers have credibility, the information should still be taken with a grain of salt as HoYoverse could still make additional changes to the characters before Genshin Impact Version 3.1 arrives on September 28.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, and a Nintendo Switch version is in development.
