Since then, Genshin Impact added new skins only on one more occasion during the Lantern Rite festival back in update 2.4. Multiple leaks have been hinting that players will have the option to acquire additional skins for two popular characters in the foreseeable future.

Previous leaks have confirmed that Diluc and Fischl will get new skins in one of the upcoming updates. The leaks also claim that Diluc will receive the first five-star skin in the game which will grant him additional effects during combat. A post on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit shows a video featuring the new effects. The video confirms that each of his special attacks will have new effects. Diluc’s Elemental Skill allows him to perform a forward slash up to three times and each of the three attacks will now have different type of flames.
When it comes to his Elemental Burst, Diluc’s famous phoenix will have much darker flames and a slight change to its animation. While fans seem overall satisfied with the effects, most of them are unhappy with the rumored price which should be around $40. Most of them would also prefer to see changes to Diluc’s face which seems a bit outdated, at least compared to new male characters like the recently introduced Kamisato Ayato.
The new five-star skin could definitely increase Diluc’s popularity in the game. Diluc is part of the original Genshin Impact squad which means that he was released way back in September 2020. Even though Diluc was considered to be one of the strongest characters in Genshin Impact, his popularity has slowly decreased over the past two years thanks in large part to the game adding much stronger characters with each update.
Another reason why players avoid grinding for Diluc’s build is that he is part of the less popular Standard Banner which means that it’s almost impossible to level his constellations without spending thousands of wishes. Rumors have confirmed that another character named Fischl will also receive a new skin, however it will have a lower rarity meaning that there probably won’t be any special effects attached to it.
Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
