As per usual, the new characters will be divided between the update’s two separate banner cycles. A very credible Genshin Impact leaker by the name SpendYourPrimos has apparently revealed more information about the upcoming update.

According to their tweet, the first banner for Genshin Impact Version 3.0 will bring the new character Tighnari alongside the popular Geo Archon Zhongli, while the second part of the update will introduce two banner re-runs for popular characters Ganyu and Sangonomiya Kokomi. Even though previous leaks have been hinting that update 3.0 would be divided into three different limited banners, it seems as though developer HoYoyoverse decided to go with the two standard banner cycles. Tighnari will apparently be the only new five-star character in Genshin Impact update 3.0.
Recent beta leaks have revealed that he will be a new DPS Genshin Impact character with a strong focus on his Charged Attack, similar to Ganyu. A big part of the community believes that his name is based on an Arab scientist named Al-Tighnari which could be true considering that the Middle East is one of the real-life locations the new Sumeru region is based on. Tighnari’s damage potential will apparently scale with Elemental Mastery which seems to be very common for the new Sumeru characters.
Recent rumors also revealed that Genshin Impact 3.0 might be one week shorter than the usual update. The main reason for this is apparently HoYoverse’s plans for Version 3.1 to arrive on the game’s second anniversary. Another reason is probably Genshin Impact’s attempt to get back to their usual update schedule which was disrupted by the delay that occurred during update 2.6. The fact that multiple leakers confirmed that the upcoming Battle Pass is one week shorter gives additional credibility to this leak.
The new update will apparently introduce two new four-star characters named Collei and Dori. Collei has been a part of the game’s manga for a very long time, and she is expected to arrive on the first banner cycle. A couple of leakers revealed that players will have the option to acquire Collei for free in the first Sumeru update. Dori will be a new Electro user, and she is rumored to appear on the update’s second banner cycle.
Genshin Impact is available now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
