Over the past couple of months, multiple leaks have been predicting the arrival of multiple Genshin Impact characters. Ayato is the head of the Kamisato clan and even though most players thought that it was his sister Ayaka who was pulling the strings for the clan, recent story quests have revealed that it’s actually Ayato who assumes the leadership role.

Previous leaks have revealed that Ayato will be a very strong Genshin Impact DPS character with a strong focus on Normal Attacks, similar to the recently released Arataki Itto. A recent post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed more information about Ayato’s kit:
Elemental Skill (E) infuses Ayato’s attacks with Hydro damage and increases his range and AoE effect Elemental Burst (Q) creates an area of damage and all allies standing within the field will receive an attack speed buff
Ayato was originally rumored to be released alongside another four-star character, Shikanoin Heizou. Unlike Ayato, there is not much information about Heizou other than that he’s a detective. Shikanoin Heizou is a popular Inazuma detective who works for the Tenryu Commission. His unique way of investigating often gives the impression that he puts his own priorities over duties which makes him disliked by his superiors such as the well-known character Kojou Sara. Ayato’s appearance is really graceful which suits a person of great importance for the Inazuma region. He is a master of governmental matters and an amazing leader who is known for bringing stability to his Kamisato clan. Many NPC’s voice lines describe Ayato as a generous and mature person as well as a skilled fighter.
Ayato is confirmed to be a Hydro character, which could mean that he could have great synergy with his sister Ayaka, who is one of the most unique Genshin Impact characters. Just like his sister, Ayato’s official art shows him wielding a sword, which would make him the second Hydro sword character after Xingqiu. When it comes to his release date, another Genshin Impact leaker has revealed that he could arrive with update 2.6, which, according to miHoYo’s usual update schedule, will arrive around April 10, 2022.
Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
