After numerous requests from the community, developer HoYoverse decided to introduce Teyvat’s first desert in Genshin Impact update 3.1 which quickly became a fan-favorite. With such a large world at their disposal, Genshin Impact players had to run into a couple of glitches in their adventure through the world of Teyvat.

Reddit user Superior_Lancers has shared a hilarious video showing a glitch in which their Raiden Shogun is stuck in the terrain which gives the impression that the new deserts have quicksand. The game does not allow the player to swap to other characters in the video which makes the glitch look even more realistic. Raiden Shogun tried to jump her way out of the glitch but all of her escape attempts were far from successful. Other Genshin Impact players jokingly pointed out that this had to be a very stressful experience for Raiden Shogun since she is so far from home, a lush archipelagic region known as Inazuma.
Raiden Shogun serves as the Electro Archon and the protector of the Inazuma islands which were the main place of action in the previous major update. She is one of the most popular characters in Genshin Impact who still holds multiple records when it comes to banner revenue. Even though the new Dendro element shifted the character meta, Raiden Shogun remained an S-tier pick for most types of team compositions in the game.
This is not the first time a Genshin Impact player encountered this type of glitch as the main subReddit featured a number of similar videos which led many players to believe that HoYoverse could actually add quicksand in one of Genshin Impact’s upcoming map expansions. Credible leaks have already revealed that update 3.3 might introduce another part of Sumeru which will apparently be very similar to the desert that arrived in version 3.2.
While the majority of fans seem very satisfied with the new domain-filled deserts, a part of the community thinks that it might be too big for its own good. They claim that the distance between objectives could be smaller in order to reduce travel time. The sand dunes which are spread over landscapes provide a much-needed contrast to the rainforest that was added in update 3.0. Players hope that future major regions in Genshin Impact will follow the same pattern when it comes to additional map expansions.
