The Genshin Impact Twitter account confirmed that it will be giving away 800 Primogems through 200 Primogem intervals across multiple days over the weekend. Because of its live service model, Genshin Impact has a plethora that’s specific to logging in each day rather than just playing for countless hours at a time, making the 200 daily Primogems a bit of an added bonus to players that are already logging in regularly. The Game Awards celebration isn’t the first time that Genshin Impact has given fans freebies, as PlayStation hero Aloy and multiple other characters have been given away in addition to skins for characters like Diluc, Fischl, and Ningguang that have also had limited-time free offerings.

Genshin Impact players will be able to acquire 200 Primogems each day from December 10 until December 13 by accessing the in-game mail starting at midnight server time tomorrow. To get the full sum of 800 Primogems, players will have to reserve a few minutes for each of the three days to log in so that they can get the in-game freebie as a gift from Hoyoverse in honor of the Player’s Voice Award that Genshin Impact won at The Game Awards 2022. Although the votes cast for Genshin Impact were nearly rivaled by runner-up Sonic Frontiers, the Hoyoverse action RPG edged out the competition after the final votes were tallied, resulting in some Sonic fan backlash.
Beyond the Player’s Voice Award that Genshin Impact won last night at The Game Awards, the Hoyoverse title was also nominated for Best Mobile Game and Best Ongoing game, won by Marvel Snap and Final Fantasy 14 respectively. Though Genshin Impact failed to sweep the award show by winning all three awards, the Player’s Voice Award shows how many players the game has reached and retained since it launched back in 2020. The celebration of The Game Awards victory is rewarding all Genshin Impact players equally whether they voted for or against the game, or never even voted in The Game Awards poll at all.
As many players expressed their enthusiasm for free Genshin Impact Primogems, others simply congratulated Hoyoverse for the considerable win at The Game Awards. While most Genshin Impact voters remained loyal to Hoyoverse while voting in The Game Awards poll regardless of potential freebies, one critic asked the dedicated fans if it was worth putting in the effort for 800 Primogems.
Genshin Impact is available on Android, iOS, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
