Despite being the main focus of the game, Genshin Impact characters have a surprisingly low number of secondary skins. The most recent additions were for two Mondstadt characters, Diluc and Fishcl, who have been a part of the playable roster since the game arrived back in September 2020.

Reddit user -zephon has shared an interesting video featuring the famous Liyue character Keqing fighting with updated animations. She is a five-star Electro DPS character who can be obtained by pulling on the Standard Banner. Keqing received a new outfit named Opulent Splendor back during the Lantern Rite festival in Genshin Impact update 2.4. Many in the community were impressed by the additional combat effects as the post reached almost 8k upvotes. While some fans assumed that the concept was achieved through mods, -zephon confirmed that the animations were added through video editing.
As one of the main characters in Liyue, Keqing played a very important part in the Genshin Impact storyline. Some fans in the comments say that Keqing’s secondary outfit should’ve included similar animations in order to justify its high price of 1680 Genesis Crystals which is around $30. Diluc is the only character who received a five-star outfit that includes a new set of different combat effects and idle animations.
More fans would’ve probably bought the skin if it was released much earlier when Keqing was considered an S-tier DPS character. The addition of more complex characters made many players swap her out for much better DPS choices in Genshin Impact. However, the recent introduction of the new Dendro element could cause this Electro user to return to the character meta.
At the moment, Keqing is best used in a team composition that relies on triggering one of the new Dendro elemental reactions named Aggravate which increases the Electro user’s damage potential. For this type of team comp, Keqing should be surrounded by two Dendro users and one additional Electro character. The four-star character Fischl is a great support choice due to her strong off-field presence thanks to her loyal companion Oz.
Genshin Impact is now available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
