Jean is an Anemo sword user and her talents make her one of the best healers around. She is a part of the permanent standard banner and most players would agree that she should receive some love in terms of buffs to her kit.

A recent post on the official Genshin Impact subreddit has revealed a very interesting character awakening fan concept. Reddit’s user blitzbluu has shown a fan-made awakening concept for popular character Jean. This could be considered like a final ascension which would grant each character a new look and a significant power buff. The inspiration was taken from Hoyoverse’s other game named Honkai Impact 3rd. The concept takes as an example the Honkai’s character Valkyrie Accipiter who went from being a legacy physical damage dealer to a top-tier lightning DPS. Click here to see the full Reddit thread.
Blitzbluu tried to implement these buffs into the game in a way that fits Genshin Impact’s leveling system. The changes would most likely vary depending on the character, but most of those would include the following adjustments:
Characters’ max level would be increased to 100 New outfits that represent the awakening New skills Increases max talent level by 3, similar to constellations New voice lines
Jean’s awakening would also include two new passive talents which can be toggled on/off, so players would not have to fear altering a character’s play style. The concept was showered with praise, and it gathered over 10k upvotes on Reddit. Many players state that it would certainly be a great addition to the game as gacha games similar to Genshin Impact have a history of revamping older characters. Multiple replies in the comment section claim that it would not be a big surprise if such adjustments are put behind a paywall.
This whole awakening process could be a great addition to the game, especially if it targeted older characters like Jean or Diluc. It seems as though as the game progressed, each new character has a more stacked kit which gives them the advantage over previous characters. Recent updates have shown that Genshin Impact’s most used Spiral Abyss roster is usually made from newly released characters. Only a few characters like Bennet have survived the test of time when it comes to building the most efficient party.
Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices, with a Nintendo Switch version in development.
