Since Genshin Impact 3.0 was released on Monday, fans of the miHoYo action RPG have noted numerous smaller adjustments in the game beyond all the new content introduced with the patch. Reddit user Chomusucc recently shared a clip of their adventure in Genshin Impact in which they reveal that a bug associated with Yelan’s traversal mechanics has been fixed as of the 3.0 update. Prior to Genshin Impact 3.0, Yelan was among a short list of playable characters like Ayaka, Mona, and Sayu that got stuck on countless ground objects and clutter, to the point where some players didn’t discover new areas with the Hydro hero.

Chomusucc’s clip focuses on Yelan, and it begins with the player exploring one of the wide-open areas in her alternate sprint form for this Genshin Impact Hydro character, immediately running over ground clutter to illustrate the control difference implemented with the 3.0 patch. Chomusucc briefly stops sprinting after climbing a set of stairs and several boulders without any pause or stumbles then the player circles back around by running across all obstructions in the way, continuing to highlight that the character no longer gets stopped by small objects. According to the player in this clip, the pre-Genshin Impact 3.0 version of Yelan would get “stuck on the slightest pixel protruding from the ground,” which is noticeably not a problem in this video.

Given that the populated Genshin Impact 3.0 zone of Sumeru is full of ground clutter, such as zones like Inazuma and Liyue, the quality of life improvement for Yelan’s movement is being celebrated by a plethora of fans, including Chomusucc. Chomusucc’s clip shows Yelan running over at least a dozen objects in the brief period of time it encapsulates, resulting in far fewer stutters than the Hydro character would have otherwise encountered before the recent patch. Although some fans have suggested the bug fix is across the board with Genshin Impact 3.0, it’s currently unclear if all characters that were impacted by it have seen the same adjustment.

Several fans took to Chomusucc’s video to express their joy for the quality of life change to Genshin Impact’s Yelan with the 3.0 update, while others suggested that this bug should’ve been fixed sooner. A handful of Genshin Impact players suggested that this one alteration to the game is enough to make them change their mains to characters that were previously hindered by the issue illustrated by Chomusucc.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, and a Nintendo Switch version is in development.
